Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Valen in addition to my major medical health insurance plan?

Yes! Valen is NOT Health Insurance and can be used regardless if you have a medical health Insurance plan.

What happens if my virtual primary care doctor recommends I see a specialist in person?

You will simply reach out to your health concierge that’s available to you through your Valen membership and we will get you scheduled with a primary care physician in your area and tell you what your office visit fee for that appointment will cost.

Do I have access to facilities and surgeons in the event I need a procedure done? If so, how is that paid for?

Yes! Your Valen Care membership gives you access to our Direct Pay Network for medical procedures. You will pay the direct primary for care.

Can I see the same primary care doctor each time when I use the primary virtual care?

Yes! For Virtual Primary Care, you can see the same provider each scheduled visit for all your traditional health care needs. For Virtual Urgent Care visits, you are seen by a provider ASAP. (For Urgent Care visits, the average wait time to see a provider is 12 minutes)

What if I prefer to see a primary care doctor in person instead of virtually?

Reach out to your health concierge and they will locate a provider, give you the pricing you will pay and schedule the in person visit for you.

What if I need to go to an in person urgent care or the virtual care recommends me going to an urgent care in person? How does that work or how is that paid?

If it’s between the hours of 9a-5p Central time, your health concierge will help you find an urgent care nearest you. If it’s after those hours, we recommend you find the nearest urgent care in your area. You will be responsible for the full balance at the urgent care.

What if the virtual primary care doctor recommends getting blood work or imaging done? How does that get ordered and how is it paid for?

You will have the provider email or fax the lab or imaging order to hello@affordablelabs.com or fax (469)722-5607. Your membership provides you with labs for $5 a lab and $150 per imaging. See your membership fulfillment for which imaging services are available for the $150 image fee.
